"Skins" are plug-ins to JAlbum that determine the look and behaviour of the photo albums. Skins are developed by users in the JAlbum community all over the world. I currently have five skins in development. They are all based on the use of AJAX javascript libraries.
Slideshow 2! Skin
The Slideshow 2! Skin uses Mootools 1.2 to stream and animate the presentation of images. The Slideshow extension, Ken Burns, includes panning and zooming effects. The extension, Push, includes a pushing effect that pushes one image out with another.The extension, Flash, includes a flashing color effect during image transitions. You can hyperlink your show with a Lightbox, just click to view the full-size image in a modal window above the show.
LightBox 2 Skin
The LightBox 2 skin incorporates the Lightbox effect (originally created by Lokesh Dhakar) and uses the ClearBox javascript. It now includes an integrated slideshow within the lightbox as well as animation effects. Thumbnails appear within the lightbox window for easy navigation. Click on a thumbnail, background darkens and image appears. Click on upper right or left of this image to move from slide to slide. Click Play to start slideshow, Pause to stop.
ImageFlow Skin
ImageFlow is a JAlbum Skin using the Mootools javascript library and is based on Apple's coverflow. The gallery can be scrolled with the keyboard and or mouse scroll wheel. Includes a lightbox for a larger image from the gallery. It uses the MooFlow javascript at http://www.outcut.de/MooFlow/.
Cycle Skin
The Cycle Skin is built with the jQuery javascript library. jQuery is a fast, concise, JavaScript Library that simplifies how you traverse HTML documents, handle events and perform animations.The slide transitions and timing are configurable. Transitions include fade, fadeZoom, scrollUp, scrollDown, scrollLeft, scrollRight, scrollHorz, scrollVert, shuffle, slideX, slideY, turnUp, turnDown, turnLeft, turnRight and zoom.
SimpleBox Skin
SimpleBox is simple and fast Lightbox.It is used to overlay images on the current page through the power and flexibility of jQuery. Basic lightbox functionality, lightweight and small file size, for those that just want a simple lightbox.
SmoothGallery Skin
SmoothGallery is a javascript gallery and slideshow system using the javascript library Mootools and incorporating Slightbox, a lightbox extension. It allows you to show popup images from within SmoothGallery in a lightbox.
HighSlide JS Skin
The HighSlide JS skin utilizes the Highslide javascript library by Torstein Honsi. Clicking on a thumbnail opens up the image. You can open more than one image at a time, and arrange them on your screen by dragging them. Highslide JS is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 2.5 License. Highslide is free for non-commercial sites but costs $29 per commercial site.
Polaroid Skin
Polaroid Gallery is a JAlbum Skin based on a free, opensource flash gallery developed by Christopher Einarsrud. The script loads images and image titles dynamically from an external xml file. The script processes the data and creates an interactive flash gallery.
Double click an image to open it or to close, drag images to rearrange them. Includes options for different backgrounds and background colors.
Uvumi Skin
Uvumi is a gallery based on Mootools 1.2. Based on Uvumi Tools. Click a thumbnail and watch the gallery transform into a slideshow, which is then navigated by clicking the left column or by scrolling with the mouse wheel. A click on the photo being displayed brings the user back to the contact sheet view. Non-obtrusive, Search Engine Optimized, Cross-Browser Compatability (All the major browsers: Firefox 2 & 3, Internet Explorer 6 & 7, Opera 9, Safari 3), Progress Indicator, Handles Missing Images, Optimized Resizing, Mouse Wheel Scrolling, Fancy Captions, there is also an option to show EXIF data in the caption.
